What is Hack in Tez?
Hack in Tez is a Hackathon organized by Tezos France and PyratzLabs to empower impactful founders. We enable teams to make something great in only 40 hours by providing an abundance of web3 resources like mentors, sponsors, and partners.
Who can attend the event?
The main objective of Hack in Tez is to extend an invitation to builders such as developers, designers, and artists, who have a desire to initiate or participate in Tezos projects throughout the hackathon.
How many people can I have in my team?
Each team is allowed to have 2-5 people. We highly recommend you to have team members with complementary skills in your team. It helps your team to produce better results.
What can I build during the event?
You are allowed to work on any idea you are excited about as long as it is building on top of Tezos. We recommend you to build solutions that solve real-life problems.
Do I need to submit an application if I'm already part of a team?
Yes. Individual applications and stakes are required for each team member, even if you already belong to a team
What is the role of a mentor?
During our events, mentors play a crucial role as highly technical resources for hackers. Attending team formation, brainstorming, and project feedback sessions, mentors possess significant technical expertise and can provide hackers with invaluable guidance and advice as they develop their projects.
Can I join two teams/projects?
No, you can’t.
Can I hack solo?
No, you can’t. Each team must have at least 2 people.
Do I need be on-site for the Hackathon?
Yes, you need to be on-site for the event.
How much does the Hackathon cost?
The Hackathon is free to attend for approved attendees.
I know nothing about crypto. Can I apply?
Yes, you can. But knowledge about crypto and blockchain is highly preferred.
I have no developer skills. Can I apply?
Yes, you can. But we highly recommend each team to have at least 1 person with developer skills.
Should I be worried if I don’t have a team yet?
No. We’ll host a pre-hackathon event for attendees without a team to find team members. This will help you have a team ready to be kicked off on the Day 1 of the Hack in Tez event.
Why haven’t I heard back about my application?
We review applications in batches as they come in. Rest assured all applications will be reviewed as they come in.
Why was my application rejected?
Interest in our events continues to grow more and more with each passing day and the venue has a finite amount of space so we cannot accept everybody. We look at every part of your application and priority is given to programmers as the content of our events are very technical in nature.
How can I remove somebody from my team?
We hope each team eventually works well among the teammates. If this is really needed, please email marie.huynh@pyratzlabs.com for further assistance.
